Chisom Chikatara was Abia Warriors’ saviour, as they held Enugu Rangers to a 2-2 draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium in a thrilling derby.

Bobby Clement opened scoring in the 22nd minute. Michael Uluocha levelled for the hosts from the posts, but Rangers went ahead again through Chisom Egbuchulam, who crashed in a fantastic free-kick four minutes before the break.

Abia Warriors were denied severally by the visitors’ impressive defending, before Chikatara eventually bundled in Ndifreke Effiong’s cross.

MFM FC reclaimed top spot, after beating El-Kanemi Warriors 3-1 and former champions Kano Pillars were held to a 2-2 draw at Lobi Stars.

The Olukoya Boys now have 13 points, while Rangers and Pillars are on 11 points each.

In other games, IfeanyiUbah thrashed Ikorodu United 4-1, Niger Tornadoes defeated Rivers United 3-2 and Akwa United claimed a 2-0 win over Plateau United.
