NPFL Week 4 Review: Lobi Stars go top, Akwa United beat Heartland

Tony Okpotu scored twice for Lobi Stars, as they thrashed El-Kanemi 3-0 at home, to go top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The striker opened scoring from the penalty spot in the 4th minute and doubled his team’s advantage with another spot-kick in the 55th minute. Bernabas Imenger made the game safe with a third.

Lobi Stars now have nine points from four matches.

El-Kanemi remain bottom of the league, after losing their first three games.

In the other fixtures, Akwa United beat Heartland 3-1 at home, while Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers played out a goalless draw at the Warri City Stadium.

Wikki Tourists hammered Plateau United 3-0, Ifeanyi Ubah FC defeated Shooting Stars 3-1 and MFM FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Sunshine Stars.

Kano Pillars’ game with Abia Warriors finished goalless
