NPFL Week 2 review: New boys MFM FC go top, Pillars lose

New comers to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), MFM FC, are now top of the table after they beat Rivers United 2-1 on Wednesday.

‘The Olukoya Boys’ opened scoring in the 18th minute through Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, before Sikiru Olatunbosun doubled their advantage.

Frederick Olatunbosun pulled a goal for Rivers United in the 57th minute.

MFM FC, who shocked Nasarawa United 2-1 in their opening game, now have two wins and six points.

In the other midweek matches, Giwa FC held Tornadoes to a 1-1 draw, while Enugu Rangers beat Plateau United 3-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Warri Wolves won 1-0 at home against Kano Pillars, Sunshine Stars lost 2-1 to Lobi Stars, Abia Warriors defeated El-Kanemi 2-1, while there were no goals between Wikki Tourists and Heartland.
