NPFL Week 14: Lobi Stars open three-point lead at top, Rangers held by Go Round

Lobi Stars have opened a three-point lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after a 3-2 win over Rivers United.

The leaders trailed at half time to Ezekiel Mbah’s penalty, but turned the game on its head with two goals in 15 second-half minutes.

Austin Ogunye proved decisive in the encounter scoring twice, including the winner in the last seconds.

Abia Warriors extended their unbeaten run to four games after ending Akwa United’s excellent home form with a 1-1 draw.

Akwa remain second, while Warriors are sixth.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah crushed Plateau United 3-0, Kano Pillars lost 2-1 to bottom club Kwara United and Enyimba held Yobe Desert Stars to a 1-1 draw.

Enugu Rangers threw away a two-goal lead at Go Round FC to draw 2-2, Chijioke Akuneto netted a brace to complete a 2-1 fightback for MFM FC against Katsina United and Wikki Tourists thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0.

John Uche’s late penalty handed Heartland a 2-1 home win against Nasarawa United.
