NPFL: Title to be decided on final day as MFM win, Plateau lose

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title winners for 2017, will be decided on the final day of the season.

MFM FC defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 in a Match Day 37 encounter, thanks to two first-half goals from Stanley Okorom and Tchato Giscard.

The victory leaves the Olukoya Boys in second place with 62 points, just one point behind leaders Plateau United, who suffered a setback with a 1-0 loss to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.

In the Oriental derby in Enugu, Enyimba were held to a 1-1 draw by Enugu Rangers.

Enyimba now have 58 points, which sees them qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup for next season.

Shooting Stars beat Akwa United 1-0, Kano Pillars defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Kano and Niger Tornadoes lost 1-0 to Lobi Stars.

Gombe United were confirmed for relegation after they lost 3-0 away to Rivers United, already-relegated Remo lost 3-0 away to Katsina United, ABS who are still battling relegation edged Abia Warriors 2-1, while Sunshine Stars thrashed IfeanyiUbah 4-0.
