Super Eagles striker, Gbolahan Salami, scored a hat-trick, as Warri Wolves defeated title rivals Sunshine Stars, at the Warri City Stadium on Saturday.

The home side, who boycotted training for two days this week because of unpaid salaries and bonuses, put behind their internal problems to win what many termed a six-pointer.

Salami put his side ahead three minutes before the interval, finishing emphatically after a streaking counter-attack.

Kufre Ebong came close to making it 2-0, but it was Salami who got the second goal for Wolves, heading in Goodluck Onamado’s cross. He also scored in extra time, to round off a commanding display.

In the other game of the day, Abia Warriors and Rangers played out a 3-3 draw in Umuahia.
