Organisers of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), the League Management Company (LMC), have resheduled the Match Day 33 fixture between Rivers United and Katsina United, earlier scheduled to be played on Sunday, to Monday.

In a letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, the LMC said: “This is to inform you that matchdat 33 game between Rivers United and Katsina United earlier fixed for Sunday 6th August is hereby moved to Monday 7th August,2017. Please note for your information and necessary action.”

The LMC granted Rivers United an extra day to recover from fatigue which they will suffer, travelling to Port Harcourt after playing their outstanding game against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha stadium on Thursday.

“Rivers United were granted an extra day off because of the matchday 32 game against Rangers International which was completed on Monday due to the waterlogged pitch at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu And also their trip from the Coal City to Kano is about two days by road,” a top official in the LMC told Completesportsnigeria.com on Wednesday.
