NPFL: Rivers United still optimistic of Spain tour

Head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, has expressed his optimism that the team’s proposed trip to Spain for pre-season is still on course.

The Port Harcourt club have already shifted their training base to Abuja and Eguma explained that it is help them continue with the processes that will help their trip to Spain.

“We are now in Abuja to continue with the rest of our pre-season orders. We got here Sunday and we will start training sessions on Monday,” Eguma told Goal.

“We will train here for some weeks and will cut it short if we are able to finish the processes for our trip to Spain on time.

“We are hoping to make the best of our pre season knowing that this will keep us in the right stead for our campaign in the league, CAF Champions League and the Federation Cup. We will not toy with any of them.”

Rivers United finished last season in second place with 60 points from 36 matches and will feature in the CAF Champions League next season.
