Enyimba only need one point to be crowned the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, for a record seventh time.

The Peoples Elephants defeated Abia Warriors 1-0 in their ‘Abia derby’ played on Sunday in Umuahia.

Mfon Udoh scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute, after skipper Chinedu Udoji missed a penalty earlier on.

Enyimba now have 68 points with two matches left, six clear of closest rivals Warri Wolves, who crushed Bayelsa United 4-0 at home.

In other games, El-Kanemi beat Kano Pillars 1-0, Rangers drew 2-2 with Akwa United, while Wikki Tourists claimed a 2-0 victory over Dolphins.

Heartland defeated FC Giwa 3-2. Nasarawa vs Sharks was terminated in the 60th minute at two goals apiece, because the visitors protested a penalty awarded against them.
