Enugu Rangers are still in the race to win their first ever Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title, following a 3-2 victory over Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday.

The Flying Antelopes took an early lead, after Akwa United defender Harrison Ibukun, put the ball into his own net. Fortune Omoniwari equalized for the hosts late in the first half.

Chisom Egbuchulam scored in the 61st minute to restore Rangers’ lead and substitute Enete Chebem made the points safe with another goal.

Although Omoniwari scored his second of the day, Rangers held on to take all three points.

They now have 46 points, three more than second-place Wikki Tourists, who travel to Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
