The 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, kicked off on Saturday, with Plateau United beating Niger Tornadoes 2-1.
Charles Okafor scored the first goal of the new campaign in the 16th minute, to give the hosts the lead.
In the 64th minute, Kunle Issa equalized for the visitors. Lukman Abdulkareem came close to giving Tornades the lead for the first time, but saw his effort saved.
The home side’s determination to get the winner was rewarded in the 87th minute, when Ibeh Johnson secured all three points.
