Gombe United’s Austin Oladapo has appealed to the club’s supporters to be of good behaviour and always be patient with the team.
Oladapo stated this after their fans invaded the pitch after their 3-3 home draw against Enugu Rangers last Wednesday.
This led to the League Management Company (LMC) imposing a N3.25million fine on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side.
The striker admitted that the action of their fans, could continue to put them under pressure in their home matches.
“I don’t in anyway support fans hooliganism. What the fans did at the end of the match was uncalled for. Football is meant to be enjoyed but if the fans take it upon themselves to get provoked at every given chance does not augur well for the image of the club,” Oladapo told Goal.
“We must try and stem the tide if they want us to achieve our aspiration of remaining in the league at the end of the season. We the players and the coaches tried our best. We gave our all to the team and the action meted out on us at the end of the said match is not pleasant at all.”
