Niger Tornadoes have announced they will continue to play their home games, at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja next season.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, adopted the stadium as their home venue last season, because of the renovation work currently going on at their Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium.

Tornadoes were expected to return to Minna ahead of the 2016/2017 season, but that will no longer happen.

“Yes, Lokoja is our home for the 2016/2017 NPFL as our ancestral home stadium, Bako Kontagora Stadium is still being renovated,” read a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle on Monday.

Niger Tornadoes finished in the 11th position in the NPFL last season.
