The organising committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has awarded Plateau United’s last match to their opponents, Spotlight.
This decision means that Adamawa United will now be promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NFPL) instead of Plateau.
The disciplinary and organising committee, explained that they arrived at the verdict, because of the delayed kick-off of the final game between Spotlight and Plateau in Katsina.
Adamawa thus finished top of their group with 29 points, while Plateau has 26 points.
In the 2011/2012 season, Adamawa lost out on promotion to FC Taraba, after their final match kicked off late.
Plateau are however expected to appeal the verdict within 48 hours.
