MFM FC returned to winning ways after failing to win in their last three Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games, following their 1-0 victory over FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
Adebayo Waheed scored the only goal of the encounter in the 19th minute.
The win takes MFM up to second on the table on 37 points and ended IfeanyiUbah’s eight-game unbeaten run.
In Calabar, Enyimba beat NPFL leaders Plateau United 1-0 thanks to Andrew Abalogu’s 70th minute winner. Despite the defeat, Plateau remain top with 39 points two more than MFM. Enyimba have climbed to the fifth position on 34 points.
El-Kanemi Warriors lost 2-1 to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi. Shooting Stars halted their run of three defeats with a 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars in Ibadan.
Champions Enugu Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Nasarawa United in Enugu and Kano Pillars defeated Lobi Stars 2-1.
In other results, Katsina edged visiting Abia Warriors 1-0, Gombe lost 2-0 away to bottom team Remo Stars and ABS, playing at home, beat Niger Tornadoes 2-1.
