NPFL: LMC sanctions Enugu Rangers over Amapakabo’s arrest

The League Management Company (LMC) has charged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enugu Rangers with misconduct over disputes with former head coach, Imama Amapakabo.

The LMC ruled that the club and its official had breached the NPFL Rules and Framework, after Amapakabo was allegedly arrested by the police on the orders of the club’s management.

Rangers have now been fined N5million, while its secretary Elder Joseph Onwukwe has been banned from all league activities for one year.

The LMC also ordered the Flying Antelope to pay Amapakabo various sums, including N14,560,000 representing his salaries for April to October 2017 and compensation for wrongful termination.

He will also receive N1,600,000 representing his salary for November and December 2016; N600,000 which represents arrears of allowances and bonuses and $725 which is international travel allowance he is still being owed.
