The management of Gombe United has given head coach, Manu Garba, a three-game ultimatum to turn the team’s fortunes around or be sacked.
This was contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the club, Auwalu Umar Musa.
Musa also confirmed that Gombe United has signed 11 players, ahead of the second stanza of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season and released eight.
“Based on recommendation from the technical crew, eleven new players were signed as reinforcement to the team.
“To this effect, eight players were released, based on mutual consent.
“Based on player performance index, players’ salaries were improved. This is with a view to impelling them to improve their performances.
“The Technical Adviser, Coach Manu Garba, OON, and his crew are given ultimatum in the next three matches to improve on the team’s performance or face sanction,” the statement reads in part.
Gombe United are 18th on the table with 22 points.
