Enyimba’s hopes of successfully defending their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title, suffered another setback after they were held to a goalless draw by Sunshine Stars, in a rescheduled Match Day 23 clash.
The People’s Elephant were also held to a 1-1 draw by Rangers last weekend, failing to convert many chances.
Once again, they dominated Wednesday’s game played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, but were not sharp enough in front of goal.
Their best chance of winning the match came in first half stoppage time, after Mfon Udon won a penalty. Ifeanyi Onuigbo failed to convert from 12 years.
Enyimba remain sixth on the table, six point behind leaders Rangers with eight games left.
