Champions Enyimba, are now second in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after a battling 2-1 win over Warri Wolves at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts flew out of the blocks and were ahead as early as the first minute, with Christian Pyagbara scoring the opener. Wolves responded six minutes before the break with an equalizer.
However, Enyimba scored the vital goal in the 72nd minute, to clinch all three points from the encounter.
The Aba team are now on 30 points, one behind leaders, Rivers United, but have two games in hand.
Paul Aigbogun’s men are now undefeated in their last nine NPFL games.
