New champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Enugu Rangers, have announced that they are planning a victory parade around the state.
The Flying Antelopes clinched their first title in 32 years and their seventh overall in the just-concluded season.
Rangers finished with 63 points from 36 matches, three points ahead of second-placed Rivers United and will take part in the CAF Champions League next year.
Media Officer of the team, Foster Chime, says there will be a victory parade, as soon as Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi returns from his trip abroad.
It is expected to take place on the major streets of the state, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium to the Government House.
“We will be having a victory parade around the major streets of Enugu starting from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and the parade will terminate at the Government House where the trophy would be presented to the state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi whose monetary and moral support aided the league win,” Chime told Goal.
“We have told the State Commissioner, Honourable Charles Ndukwe to brief the Governor about the victory parade and the Commissioner told us that as soon as he returns from his trip abroad.”
