Coach Zachary Baraje has confirmed that he is no longer coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Plateau United.

The former Enyimba manager, resigned on Tuesday and cited inclement condition of service as the reason why he was leaving.

“I gave the management paper (resignation letter) on Tuesday as condition of service has not been conducive,” he told SuperSport.

“Actually, my contract with the side has ended with the conclusion of the out gone Nigerian top-flight.

“I expected the management to come to term with what we achieved in the out gone season especially keeping the side’s status quo in the NPFL by way of showing appreciation.

“I have tried to reach the management on possible opening discussion on the way forward to no avail as my calls have not been responded.

“That’s a strong signal of difficulties in future and I do not want to be party to it or any unhealthy relationship.

“Remember my comment that the team need to be strengthened for us to escape relegation in the out gone season and the response was to suspend me before some interventions were made to bring me back.

“I came back to the job to redeem my image and thank God we achieved our goal keeping the side in the top-flight.

“I cannot force myself on an unwilling partner the outcome will not be healthy to the state, team and myself.

“Right now I’m free and can be talked to by any genuine side interested in my service including Plateau United.”

Baraje led the Jos club to an 8th-placed finish in the just concluded NPFL season. Plateau totalled 52 points, 11 behind winners, Enugu Rangers.
