Mohammed Babaganaru has announced he is quitting as coach of Kano Pillars, after the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) finished on Sunday.
The former champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Niger Tornadoes in their final league fixture.
Pillars did not finish in the top 10 this season, which is widely regarded as a failure for the four-time winners.
Babaganaru only extended his contract with Sai Masugida in January this year. He joined them from Nasarawa United in the middle of last season.
He was not able to lead Pillars to a successful defence of their title as they finished in eighth place. However, the management of Pillars decided to give him a one-year extension.
Babaganaru leaves after his second spell at the Kano club.
