NPFL: Angry fans beat up referees after Abia Warriors vs IfeanyiUbah FC game

Match officials in charge of Abia Warrior’s game against IfeanyiUbah FC in Umuahia, were beaten up by angry home supporters.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture ended 1-1.
“The match officials were beaten black and blue and suffered injuries after they were attacked immediately after the game,” reported an eye witness to AfricanFootball.
Ago Abubakar was the centre referee for the match, which was shifted from the weekend to Wednesday, following inspection from the League Management Company (LMC).
His assistants were Tope Orowole and Sule Jimeta, while Ogunta Matador was the fourth referee.
