For the second time in eight months, the Minister/Deputy Chairman, National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr. Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has approved the re-assignment of three directors and an acting director in the commission.
A circular signed by the Acting Secretary of the Commission, Bassey Okon Akpanyung and dated 31st March, 2015, listed those affected in the reorganisation to include Dr. Zakari Lawal who was moved from Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) to Economic Growth, Dr. Anne Nzegwu from Reform Coordination to M&E, Mr. C. E Ezeilo from Economic Growth to Administration, while Mr. R.O Ibraheem who until now was the acting director in charge of administration takes charge at Reform Coordination.
The re assignment, according to the circular, took effect from Thursday, 2nd April, 2015 when the affected officials were expected to have done the handing over “by close of work.”
Explaining the reorganisation, the minister said the exercise was to further re position the commission with a view to meeting the current realities and enhance performance.
Sulaiman tasked the officials to prove their mettle in their new assignment and work assiduously towards meeting the commission’s mandate
