Northern governors restate commitment to defeat Boko Haram

The Northern States’ Governors Forum, NSGF, has declared its determination to bring an end to the activities of Boko Haram insurgents and others terrorising the region for years.

This was as the forum observed that their region has become a thriving nest for war, terrorism, deep seated social divisions, senseless violence, mind-boggling intolerance, injustice, destitution, joblessness, and all manner of other social vices.

The NSGF Chairman and Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, stated this at the maiden edition of the forum, since he assumed leadership, which ended last night at the Hassan Katsina State House Kaduna.

The governors pleaded for patience from northerners over the region’s challenges, lamenting that poverty within the northern region has assumed an alarming rate such that an urgent attention is needed.
