Northeast group slams Buhari over denial of venue for Kwankwaso’s presidential declaration, sa

The Northeast Kwankwaso Support Group has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration for denying Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, a 2019 presidential hopeful, venue for the declaration of his presidential ambition under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It stated that the nation’s democracy under President Buhari is under threat, adding that the denial of venue indicates that the APC is losing sleep and is in fear of losing the 2019 election.

Speaking with DAILY POST in Bauchi on Wednesday, President of the group, Alhaji Mahmood Iiyasu stated that “Buhari is not in total control of his government only presidential cabals mis- direct him. If not, how can a sitting President deny Senator Kwankwaso venue to enable him declare his presidential ambition? It’s clear that the APC administration has lost popularity.”

Iliyasu added that there was a strong indication that the acceptance and popularity of Kwankwaso has threatened Buhari’s presidential ambition, depicted by “this undemocratic manner of denying him venue”.

He flayed what he termed “act of impunity and lawlessness being perpetrated under Buhari’s watch especially spurning court orders”.

“The judiciary and security apparatus are now agents of intimidation and political arm placed to canvass votes for Buhari in 2019 and same is being used to deny Kwankwaso venue of presidential declaration. It’s a shame,” the group alleged.

Iliyasu maintained that Buhari should not forget in hurry how he enjoyed the support of Senator Kwankwaso during the 2015 election against Jonathan.

The North-East group had threatened to stage mass protest, as it urged people of the zone to use their voter cards to oust APC from office through the 2019 election.
