The Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has admitted that it is no longer fashionable for Fulani herdsmen to traverse the length and breadth of the country searching for pastures for their cattle.

This was as he disclosed that his administration has earmarked five grazing forests which have been provided with mechanised boreholes to address clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers which have claimed several lives.

“Over 60 people were sponsored and trained in Turkey for animal insemination and are now working at the two centres provided by the state.

“I want to believe this measure will end Fulani herdsmen crisis with the Southern Nigeria’s farmers,” Ganduje said at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano during a Town Hall meeting organised by the state government.
