The Cinematographers’ Guild of Nollywood have announced the death of its President, Afam Chiazor.
Chiazor reportedly died while shooting a movie in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Friday.
The disclosure was made known by renowned actor and President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN, Fred Amata on Monday.
In a statement, Amata said, “The news of the passing away of my brother, President of the Guild of Cinematographers, comes as a rude shock.
“Afam Chiazor was a professional who believed in the industry and dedicated his energy to the betterment of Nollywood.
“That he passed on set in active service is a testimony to his love and dedication to his art.
“He will surely be missed. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” Amata stated.
DAILY POST gathered that the deceased, while on set, was coughing uncontrollably and was taken back to the hotel where he had lodged.
The situation got worse and he was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The cause of death, is however, yet to to established.
