No school should be shut this electioneering period- Kaduna government


The Commissioner for Education in Kaduna State over the weekend issued a warning to all private schools in the state not to close down for elections, noting that any school that flout the order will be closed for the remainder of the year.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Director, Private Schools Board, Ministry of Education, Mr Joe Bijimi, issued this warning during an annual inter-house sport competition organised by Faith Academy.

He said the Ministry of Education has directed that all schools should remain open during this electioneering period. He promised that adequate security measures would be put in place to safeguard the lives of students and teachers.

He said “The election will be peaceful, so don’t allow parents pressurize you to close your schools,”.
