Adamawa State governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla has cancelled the traditional Sallah homage.
Over the years during Eid-el-Kabir, Sallah homage was paid to the Government House by traditional rulers, labour groups, community leaders, prominent indigenes among others,
On Friday, Jibrilla said he doesn’t want such visits this time.
The directive is contained in a terse statement signed by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Ahmad Sajoh.
Sajoh quoted his boss as advising all those who planned the homage “to celebrate with their families and loved ones”.
The statement urged Muslims to reflect on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir and pray for the progress of the country.
Adamawa had a peaceful celebration amid tight security by the police and the military.
