No plans to impeach Tambuwal – Reps

The spokesman of the House of Representatives, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, yesterday said that members of the House had no plans to impeach the speaker of the House, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Zakari said this while briefing newsmen on Thursday at the National Assembly.

According to him, the power to impeach or install any speaker lies on all the members of the House, not just few party members, adding that, “Tambuwal is a speaker in whom we are all pleased.”

He said there was no truth in the allegations that money was distributed to lawmakers to impeach Tambuwal. Zakari said the leadership of the House was not involved in sharing of any money, neither has any member of the leadership nor himself received any money.
