All Progressive Congress, APC, gubernatorial aspirant in Katsina State, Architect Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi has vowed that with his coming into the race for the Katsina State Governorship, PDP according to him “will never rig elections in Katsina State again”.
Abdullahi stated this shortly after picking Gubernatorial nomination form of the party at the party secretariat in Katsina.
He alleged that since 2003 opposition parties were robbed of victory in Katsina through what he described as serial rigging by the PDP, warning that the opposition would, this time around, resist any attempt to rig elections in the state.
Abdullahi said “I decided to join this race to bring change on the way things are being run in Katsina state. I represent change and hope for the future generation in the state. When we say APC=CHANGE, I am that Change. I am here. Change is here!”
He therefore assured that if given the chance he would embark on pro-active transformation of the state to change the course of its development to impact positively on the living standard of its people, promising to bring the wealth of experience he acquired during his 13 years of service with Lagos State Government.
The aspirant lamented that despite the huge monthly federal allocation to the state , its human potential and natural resources, the people of the state are still wallowing in abject poverty.
He added “Look at the dams we have across the state, yet our people are facing poverty. Some of these dams are under-utilised, while some are being deliberately sabotaged. We have to work hard to change the situation. It is a shame that Katsina is being listed among the poorest states in the federation.”
Responding, the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa welcomed the entry of Arch. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi into the race.
“:We are aware of the success story of the development of Lagos. We all want such progress and development in Katsina State,” Alhaji Inuwa said.
He commended Abdullahi and his entourage for their orderly conduct. He further emphasized the importance of unity in the party which he said is the major tool in achieving success during elections.
He therefore warned that the party would not hesitate to disqualify any aspirant that attempted to use violence and thuggery during and after the primary election, noting that “the suspension will be instant.”
