The Ondo State Coordinator of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) Comrade Henry Kehinde-Bello has said no amount of dollars allegedly distributed to some political and traditional leaders in the South-West will save Jonathan from being defeated.
Kehinde-Bello alleged that since the postponement of the polls from earlier scheduled dates, the Presidency had relocated all its machineries from the Federal Capital, Abuja to Lagos State in order to use dollars to buy the minds of some prominent sons and daughters of Yorubas.
Speaking with journalists in Akure, the State Capital, the BSO Coordinator said the alleged donation of dollars to traditional rulers in the South Western States was just another wasted effort by the present administration of Jonathan.
He alleged that they were aware that the President had spent over $200 million dollars on leaders of Afeniferes, Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), some Youths, Traditional Rulers, Imans and Alfas, Pastors among others in order to confuse their subjects and followers on why they must not vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari
“His words, “we are watching and monitoring the whole process. We can boldly tell the President that he has just wasted the resources of the country on something that can never yield anything good. We Yorubas are determined and nothing will change our minds. Let those who are hungry for dollars go ahead and those who love fleet of cars should go on. Dollars will not change our votes.
“We have continued to see the result of dollars through continuous Post Confab summits held in Akure, Ibadan and Lagos State by Governor Olusegun Mimiko. The result of the dollars was also displayed by members of OPC, led by their leaders, Dr. Fredrick Fasehun and Mr. Gani Adams when they took over all Lagos main roads destroying and vandalizing APC posters all in the name of protesting against Jega. Thank God Fasehun opened up during the last summit held in Lagos, that he was behind the postponement of the elections due to the fact that he knew Jonathan cannot win.
“Yorubas must be grateful to Tinubu for always fighting for the interest that will benefit we the Yorubas. He stood firm and rejected an offer to become Vice President under interim government when Jonathan approached him during his stays in Lagos. How many leaders of Afeniferes can reject such offers? Is it Fasehun or Gani that are running after Pipelines Surveillance contracts? Are they truly in love with the Yorubas or their own pockets?
“Jonathan has been romancing those who have no electoral values in south west. With due respect to Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Olu Falae and Pa. Reuben Fasoranti, can anyone of them win their polling units for Jonathan? Falae cannot control all his family members to vote for Jonathan. They are all expired politicians. God has chosen Buhari as the next President of Nigeria, no amount of dollars and cars can change the will of God.
“We should not be deceived by implementation of Confab report, it is a dream that will never come to pass. The person championing this in South west, Governor Olusegun Mimiko was among governors who directed their puppets in their State Assemblies to vote against local government autonomy and this was part of the Confab report. If the governor could direct the State lawmakers to reject the Confab report, what is the assurance that they will be sincere to support the President in implementing the report?”
