Kwara United defender, Saka Azeez, has been confirmed dead after he slumped in training in Ilorin on Friday morning.
The team’s head coach, John Obuh, confirmed that Saka collapsed without any contact and that attempts to revive him proved unsuccessful.
“Yes, its true. I don’t want to comment any further. He was a good player,” Obuh stated when Completesportsnigeria.com contacted him.
According to reports, the late Saka who has featured in one game so far in the Nigerian National League (NNL), showed no signs of illness prior to untimely and sudden death.
Kwara United on Wednesday beat Adamawa United FC of Yola 3-0 in a Match Day 11 fixture of the ongoing 2016/2017 NNL campaign.
