The 2016/17 Nigeria National Football League (NNL) will kick off on March 17, 2017.
This was confirmed after a congress held in Abuja on Thursday.
Warri Wolves, Ikorodu United and Heartland FC, who were all relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), will be looking to gain promotion to the topflight.
However, all fixtures involving Giwa FC will be pending, until the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), gives a verdict on the club and its owner.
Giwa were expelled from the NPFL last season.
