NNL kicks off March 17

The 2016/17 Nigeria National Football League (NNL) will kick off on March 17, 2017.

This was confirmed after a congress held in Abuja on Thursday.

Warri Wolves, Ikorodu United and Heartland FC, who were all relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), will be looking to gain promotion to the topflight.

However, all fixtures involving Giwa FC will be pending, until the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), gives a verdict on the club and its owner.

2016/2017 NNL Week 1 fixtures

Group A

Adamawa United vs Yobe Desert Stars.

Bida Lions (Afe-Babalola) vs Sokoto United.

FC Taraba vs Kwara United.

FC Zamfara vs Kogi United.

FRSC FC vs Kaduna United.

Giwa FC vs Jigawa GS.

Group B

Bayelsa United vs Osun United.

Abia Comets vs Warri Wolves.

Akwa Starlets vs Unicem Rovers.

AS Racine vs Papilo FC.

Insurance FC vs My People FC.

Crown FC vs Ikorodu United.

Delta Force vs Heartland FC.

First Bank vs Go Round FC.

Dreams FC (Nnewi United) vs Gateway United.
