Nnamdi Kanu: Igbo youths pass vote of confidence on Ohanaeze leadership

The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Sunday, passed a vote of confidence on its President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, over his efforts to ensure the release of detained leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Arising from their meeting in Enugu, the OYC members said Isiguzoro had demonstrated an unparalleled leadership style.

In a communique issued after the meeting, the group equally condemned the incessant loss of lives and properties at the Oji River- Awka Road.

The communique was signed by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, National Secretary, Obinna Achionye, National Vice president Imo, Ambrose Okonkwo National Vice president Enugu, Dr kingsley Lawrence Chiedozie national deputy treasurer, Oscar kanu National Vice president Rivers, Peter Okoro deputy national financial secretary, Uchebukor Prudence National financial Secretary, Alex Okemiri Ebonyi State Chairman, Bobby Ezemuonye Rivers state Chairman, and Israel Ogbonna Abia State Chairman.

It read in parts: “After a review of the leadership style of our President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, we have today passed a vote of confidence on him, especially over his struggle for the emancipation of Ndigbo.

“We are so much impressed with Mazi Isiguzoro’s commitment towards the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. His devotion towards the common cause of Ndigbo is quite commendable and we believe that the recent trips by the OYC leadership across the country would soon yield positive dividends for Ndigbo.

“At this point, the OYC calls on all pro-Biafra groups to close ranks and work together for the common good of Ndigbo.

“We equally expressed worry over the incessant deaths at Oji River-Awka-Onitsha Road. The deaths, usually caused by trailers, which has become a daily occurrence, has brought sad tales, orphaned so many children and brought distress to Oji River community.

“It is even more sad considering the fact that the trailers causing this deaths belong to a particular company. Our observation shows that his drivers are inexperienced.

“To this end, we call on the Federal Government to immediately rehabilitate the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in order to stop the diversion of heavy trucks to Oji River.

“We equally expressed sadness over the death of our National Vice president from Ebonyi State, who was murdered and urged Governor Dave Umahi to see that justice is done.”
