Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High court, Abuja has backed out of the case involving a former minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro.
Moro is currently facing various charges bothering on an alleged poor handling of the 2014 Nigerian Immigration recruitment exercise.
In her ruling on Wednesday, Justice Chikere referred the case back to the Chief Justice for reassignment.
She anchored her decision to back out of the case on personal reason.
“I am sending the file back to the Chief Judge for re-assignment for personal reasons,” said Mrs. Chikere.
She also noted that the parties could continue, when the case is resigned.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Aliyu Yusuf, had told the court of his client’s decision to amend the charges against Mr. Moro, before the judge announced her decision to withdraw from the case.
The amendment of the charge was suspended till a later date.
