Nigerians have reacted to the report that President Muhammadu Buhari stumbled during the All Progressives Congress, APC, rally in Lokoja, Kogi State on Wednesday.
DAILY POST reported yesterday that the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) had claimed that the purported collapse of President Buhari, during the rally APC in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital capital, vindicates their stand that “he is physically unfit to continue in office.”
The video has since stirred reactions from Nigerians, who said it indicates that “he is physically unfit to continue in office”.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter:
@Mathewso2 “President Buhari missing his steps at the rally in kogi is normal and can happen to anyone. But come to think of it, the president and his main opponent atiku should be in retirement homes by now. As a man,you should be resting, playing with your grandchildren at age 70 and above
@Iamosaze “Buhari is not physically fit but want to continue. Very wicked.”
@Oluwapower “Please allow Buhari to go home and rest. First, he doesn’t remember the date he came into office, which he said to be 19th of May 2015. Now, he almost collapses at a rally in Kogi, let this man go back to Daura and enjoy his retirement in peace.”
@BabaIdris “This happened today in Kogi and i’m thanking God for saving President Buhari from that fall because i love him. Dear Baba , Kindly leave the stage for Atiku at ease.”
@Jacksonpbn “One day, Buhari falls while campaigning in Kogi state, didn’t remember the date he was sworn-in and Election is about 30days away. How many more gaffe are we going to see before hypnotized hailers of Buhari know this man is due for a nursing home in Daura?
@Maybeks “You people ol’papa that y’all are insisting must be president against all odds fell during APC presidential rally in Kogi despite the fact that he had his head down watching his steps. Buhari is incompetent & too old to govern Nigeria AGAIN! Kick his nepotic ass out on Feb 16th!
@Obuteokoro “This man isn’t fit to govern even Daura Local govt, talkless of a vast entity like Nigeria!
@Dearmaximillian “Daura people should not allow them to kill their father all in the name of politics. This man Is old. He should he allowed to go back to his hometown and enjoy his old age like a normal person and die peacefully.”
@Oneukajnr “I heard our dear President almost fell down on the platform during campaign in Kogi State. The handwriting is already on the wall.”
