The Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mr. Mike Omeri, has advised Nigerians to watch local stations, more than they tune into foreign ones.

Mr. Omeri, who was a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, insisted that Nigerians cannot be aware of his agency’s activities, if they keep watching satelite stations.

“I have discovered something, like I said, I have travelled over 20, 000Km since I took office. I have met people who say they have not seen me even in their states but then when I ask them what do they watch? They watch CNN, they are always on DStv watching other programmes; they don’t watch local stations,” he said.

“Nigerians must begin to look inward and look at their stations for news and things that interest them and are happening within their communities”.

However, he also said that if Nigerians keep watching programmes on Digital Satellite television (DStv), the agency consider broadcasting its information through that medium.
