Photographs have surfaced online of teenage boys smoking what looked like marijuana during the pro-Buhari rally held at the Unity Fountain Square in Abuja.

Early on Friday, about 8 buses containing mostly young people drove towards the Unity Fountain in Abuja to drop youths chanting “Sai Buhari! Sai Buhari!!” They were seen smoking to get themselves psychologically fired up in solidarity protests for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Since 31 May, 2008, smokers who indulge in the act in public places within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) risk jail terms, if nabbed.

However, men of the FCT Police Command were present as the teenage boys smoked but merely formed a barricade between the pro-Buhari group and the anti-Buhari protesters. None of the boys was arrested.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to instagram to voice their opinions. Read their reactions below:

@annndees: “Who sponsored them?”
