Nigerians react to Atiku Abubakar’s defection to PDP

Nigerians have reacted to the return of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The former Vice President formally rejoined PDP, via a live broadcast on his official Facebook account on Sunday.

Atiku in the broadcast criticised the APC, stating that the party has not only failed the Nigerian youth but also failed to take their welfare as priority.

The Waziri of Adamawa therefore said he would focus more on job creation and youth development.

However, most Nigerians, not shocked by the defection of the former vice president wrote:

Bankole Akintunde Adebayo: Dear PDP, now that @atiku has joined your fold, please make him your presidential candidate. He is your best chance at winning in 2019.His pocket is deep. Money wont be a problem. We need his/our money to boost our economy

Tayo Oviosu : Tell me this @atiku, Please be candid if you want my vote. Don’t you think Nigeria needs fresh young leaders vs leaders who have been there before? You have been VP and served well. Can we not make room for new up and coming leaders?

Isima‏ @IsimaOdeh: Political illiterates are worse than the uneducated. They can’t spot tricks, you are being told not to support Atiku by supporters of a man who is older than him. They say you should support a youth (who?) So you go to the ballot paper and write “youth”? Or refuse to vote? Smh.

Nimah A‏ @MsNemah : If your* problem with Atiku’s Presidential aspiration is he’s ”desperate” please bin it. Mr Buhari also ran for three times, eventually won and is looking like worst president we’ve ever had since Obasanjo.

Souljah @jeffphillips1 :Hopefully Atiku’s decamp to PDP will stir a vibrant opposition and get @MBuhari to wake up from his slumber and tackle issues decisively in the manner millions of Nigerians who invested their all to get him into power expected him to do.
