Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday stirred reactions online after he conceded defeat to the anointed candidate of the National Leader of the All progressives Congress, APC, Babajide Sanwa-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu, who is the Tinubu’s candidate had defeated Ambode during the controversial primary election held on Tuesday across the state.
Against this backdrop, Ambode had addressed a press conference, where he accepted defeat and congratulated Sanwo-Olu.
The incumbent governor also thanked Tinubu and the elders of the party, promising to ensure a smooth transition and work with the party while still in office.
Reacting to Ambodes action, Nigerians on social media shared divergent opinions.
Some Nigerians hailed Ambode for conceding defeat while others suggested that he has been offered Senatorial position by the ruling party.
