1. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has arrested over 400 members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) who, it said, had been disrupting the peace of the city for about five days running.

The arrested Shiites members, who were being paraded by the police, were said to have been in possession of bombs.

Jimoh Moshood, Police Spokesman said the INM members were in possession of petrol bombs, illicit drugs and other dangerous weapons at the time of their arrest.

2. Former Commissioner for Education in Oyo State, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, on Tuesday emerged as the substantive gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Adeniran, who is one of the thirteen gubernatorial aspirants that were jostling for the party’s ticket, emerged as the substantive gubernatorial candidate of the party on Tuesday at an election conducted by the thirteen gubernatorial aspirants.

3. The Nigerian Army, on Tuesday received a shipment of various ammunitions.

The military in a terse statement posted on its official Facebook page, said the ammunition would further enhance its operational capabilities and combat efficiency.

4. No fewer than 5,000 members of Kwankwasiya group in Kebbi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Members of the group were received by the Deputy Governor of Kebbi, Alhaji Samaila Yombe, at the APC Secretariat, Birnin-Kebbi on Tuesday, NAN reports.

5. A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital has fixed November 26 for hearing a suit seeking to compel the National Assembly to begin impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The presiding judge, Justice Maurine Onyetenu made this known on Tuesday, as she entertained the case, which was jointly instituted by a human right lawyer, Kanmi Ajibola, and an activist, Sulaiman Adeniyi against the President for his alleged failure to meet basic requirement to occupy the office of the president.

6. The Nigerian Labour union has said it will not back down on its threat to embark on a nationwide protest over the National minimum wage.

The leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trader Union Congress and the United Labour Congress, with their members marched from their NLC office at DLine to the Rivers Sate Government House to register their protest.

7. No fewer than 3,000 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Similarly, about 2,000 members of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP in the state also decamped to the PDP in Idanre Local Government Area of the Ondo State.

8. Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, INM, otherwise known as Shi’ites on Tuesday stormed Abuja again and consequently clashed with security agents.

The protesters were in their numbers matching to the Central Business District of Abuja when they were stopped by men of the Nigeria Police, who fired gunshots and teargas to disperse them.

9. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday visited Kaduna State over the endless ethno-religious crises in the area.

Buhari, who was accompanied by top government officials, assured that those behind the unrest in the state would not go unpunished.

10. On the international scene, Donald Trump, president of the United States of America, is planning to sign an executive order that would seek to end the right to U.S. citizenship for children of non-citizens born on U.S. soil.

The move, which is said to be against the Constitution, would be the most aggressive measure yet by an American president on immigration.
