1. President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, and 29 other governors would take oath of office today.

While the presidential swearing-in would take place at the nation’s traditional ground, Eagles Square, Abuja, other governors would be sworn in at their respective state capitals.

2. The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Acho Ihim, has resigned.

Ihim tendered his resignation letter to the Clerk of the House, Chris Duru and was confirmed by his Chief Press Secretary, Marcel Ekwezuo.

3. A Kano Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday ordered the arrest of Chief of Staff to the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, Munir Bayero.

The court also ordered the arrest of Mujitaba Abba and Sani Kwaru, who are all aides of the monarch.

4. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested the proprietor of a Yahoo Yahoo training school in Lagos, Frank Chinedu.

EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, said Chinedu, 22, was arrested alongside eight students of the unnamed training centre located at 14, Animashaun Street, Progressive Estate, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, while receiving lectures in internet fraud activities.

5. The Chief Steward to the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, John Achagwa, has committed suicide.

The Chief Steward was said to have greeted his colleagues at the lodge at about 1: 44 pm on Tuesday before he went back and climbed a tree behind the government lodge and hanged himself to death.

6. The organised Labour in Kogi State says it has suspended its planned street protest scheduled for today, 29th May, 2019, over unpaid salaries.

A statement on Tuesday night by the secretaries of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Owoeye Oladipupo, Trade Union Congress, (TUC) Comrade, James Kolawole and their Joint Public Service Negotiating Council counterpart, Comrade Isah Abubakar said the decision to suspend the protest was reached after exhaustive deliberation by the leadership of the unions in Lokoja.

7. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

His spokesman, Laolu Akande, said this in a statement Tuesday night said the submission was done after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted his forms.

8. The Joint Task Force in Borno State has said that dreaded sect, Boko Haram, working in collaboration with some foreign mercenaries have concluded plans to launch attacks during the Sallah holiday.

A statement from Colonel Sagir Musa, said the attack will target both the military and civilians.

9. The outgoing Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, said the Ministry of Justice has recovered 779.5 million dollars and N59.2 billion stolen from the country.

The minister also said that in line with relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the ministry had reached an advanced stage in efforts to ensure the forfeiture of cash and property worth billions to the Federal Government.

10. President Muhammadu Buhari has, in compliance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, which by law must precede his oath-taking slated for tomorrow, May 29th.

A statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, noted that the duly completed forms were submitted to the Chairman of the CCB, Professor Mohammed Isa, on behalf of the President by Sarki Abba, Senior Special Assistant, Household and Domestic Affairs.
