1. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday sacked the managing directors of the subsidiaries of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. He also retired 38 top management staff of the corporation and appointed four new directors for the firm.

2. The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has insisted that immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, must be investigated over allegations of corruption. The party has consequently petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, reeling out some alleged corrupt practices that happened under Amaechi’s leadership.

3. Time is almost up for those involved in the looting of the nation’s treasury under the immediate past administration of Jonathan, as President Buhari has disclosed that their probe will begin in few weeks from now. The president made the disclosure on Tuesday at the Villa.

4. Chairman, Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, has been asked to return N133m to government’s treasury through the ICPC recovery account at First City Monument Bank. The directive was given by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC. The said amount was the balance of the N350m he received from the Federal Government for staff training and physical monitoring of police personnel in the build up to the last general elections.

5. The House of Representatives on Tuesday directed that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, appears before it to explain the bank’s decision to bar deposit banks from accepting cash dollar deposits.

6. Latest report has it that no fewer than 47 persons were killed in Boko Haram explosion inside Sabon Gari market, along Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu highway. Report says the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

7. Kinsmen of former President Goodluck Jonathan, including Senator Clever Ikisikpo have decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, blaming their decision on the method of operation of the party, alleging that the party was being run like a one man business.

8. Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has said that even though President Muhammadu has not come out to apologise to Nigerians over his past mistakes, his present disposition shows that he is now a born-again phenomenon on the political terrain of the country.

9. Kogi State government has denied that nine of its workers lost their lives due to non-payment of salary. The state government in a statement described the story as totally false, borne out of ignorance and mischievous.

10. Osun state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has said that he is not afraid of EFCC’s investigation, describing those agitating for his probe as ‘blackmailers,’ saying their effort will end in futility.
