1. Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan on Tuesday appealed the forfeiture of her N12.2billion to the Federal Government.

Jonathan prayed the Court of Appeal in Lagos to set aside the judgment of Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

2. Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has opposed the federal government’s proposal to establish Ruga settlements across the nation for herdsmen.

Speaking in Lagos on Tuesday at the launch of United Nations’ Solutions 17 SDG programme, Soyinka berated the federal government for the idea, which he said can cause Nigeria to explode.

3. President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on social media, Lauretta Onochie has waded into the viral video showing the lawmaker representing Adamawa North senatorial district in the Senate, Elisha Abbo physically assaulting a woman at an adult sex-toy shop in Abuja.

Abbo in the viral video on Tuesday was seen descending on the woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shopowner.

5. Senator Elisha Abbo (Adamawa North District) has admitted that he is the man in a video that has gone viral, physically assaulting a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja.

Abbo, however, insists he was not a Senator at the time of the incident and suggested that the footage was doctored.

6. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said that the National Assembly Complex was “almost collapsing.”

Gbajabiamila, who spoke when he hosted Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, in Abuja on Monday, said the legislative complex is “presently in a sorry state”, urging the federal capital territory administration (FCTA) to take over the maintenance of the building.

7. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue has said that Monday’s tanker explosion at Ahumbe, near Aliade in Gwer East Local Government Area of the state, claimed 35 lives, including that of a pregnant woman and her child.

The Sector Commander, Mr Aliyu Baba, gave the figure on Tuesday told newsmen in Makurdi, adding that 101 persons sustained various degrees of burns.

8. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa has filed a motion seeking the leave of the Adamawa State Election Petition Tribunal to withdraw the petition it filed contesting the declaration of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as the winner of the governorship election in the state.

At the resumed sitting on Tuesday in Yola, APC’s motion to withdraw the petition was, however, accompanied by disorder as another team of legal representatives, also for the APC, claimed it has filed a counter motion dismissing that claim.

9. The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has recovered 12 bodies so far in the latest boat mishap on the Badore-Ijede sea route which occurred on June 29.

Report had it that the boat mishap occurred mid-sea at about 11.00 p.m. on June 29 on the Badore-Ijede sea route with only three survivors.

10. Four people sustained ‘serious’ injuries following a clash between two communities in Yola South Local Government of Adamawa State.

The crisis occurred between the people of Njoboli and those of a nearby Njoboliyo, and a source said two residents of Njoboli were injured while one house was razed down following the attack that happened Sunday night.
