1. Donald Trumps of Democrats has defeated his Republican counterpart, Hillary Clinton in the ongoing US presidential election.

He clearly defeated Clinton in Electoral College votes.

2. The Nigerian Army is set to probe the death of some of its gallant officers, who were recently gunned down by the Boko Haram sect.

The military body says the death of the Commander of the 272 Special Forces Tanks Battalion, Lt. Col. Muhammad Abu-Ali, and six of his men in a Boko Haram attack at Mallam Fatori on November 4, 2016 would be investigated.

3. The Supreme Court on Tuesday, upheld the Election of Governor Dickson on the Appeal brought before it by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its Governorship Candidate in the December 5, 2015 Election, Chief Timipre Sylva.

The seven-man panel of Justices of the apex court led by Justice Mohammed Tanko, dismissed the appeal by the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its governorship candidate in the state, Sylva, against Dickson, saying that the petition lacked merit.

4. The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has explained why it is impossible to conduct Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

Oloyede noted that the major challenge facing the board has to do with funding.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to leave Nigeria a better nation than he met it. Buhari, who spoke in Edo State during his recent working visit to the state urged ethnic groups in the country to maintain unity and assist the nation become greater again.

6. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi on Tuesday inaugurated a 115-member strategy review and inter-party affairs committee. The committee is saddled with task of bringing other political parties for a possible merger. The committee would work together in view of merging with other political parties ahead of the 2019 general elections.

7. The Nigerian currency, Naira on Tuesday appreciated against the dollar in all the segments of the forex market.

The currency gained N44.95 to exchange at N305.27 to the dollar at the interbank market after its Monday’s record of N350. 22.

8. The Militants on Tuesday resumed hostilities in the Niger Delta region, blowing up an oil pipeline in Warri, Delta State. The said pipeline, Trans Forcados export line located in Batan community of the state was attacked in the early hours of the day by militants.

The affected line which receives crude from the Batan flow station and feeds the Forcados export terminal is operated by the state-owned Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC.

9. At least, 30 miners were Monday night killed by gunmen suspected to be cattle rustlers in Zamfara State.

The assailants were said to have attacked the miners at the mine location in Bindim, Maru Local Government Area of the state.

10. The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was on Tuesday re-arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The Federal Government re-arraigned Kanu before Justice Nyako on an amended 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony and publication of defamatory matter, following the withdrawal of the former trial judge, Justice John Tsoho of the same court.
