1. There was confusion in the country among promoters and participants were thrown into confusion on Tuesday following the outbreak of the news that ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as MMM has been frozen. However, the founders of the scheme are insisting that the scheme was only in pause mode and has not crashed as widely reported in the media.
2. An about-to-wed man has landed on the hospital bed after taking substance believed to be insecticide following the outbreak of the news that the Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, MMM, scheme has crashed. The victim, Adakole allegedly took the substance in Otukpo area of Benue State.
3. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has assured Nigerian workers that they will get a pay rise next year.
Ngige, who spoke in Awka, the Anambra State capital, during an interactive session with journalists on Tuesday, explained that the various committees handling the minimum wage issue, would soon come up with a solution.
4. The federal government of Nigeria has boasted that that Nigeria will come out of the ongoing economic bites in the nation in 2017.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal noted that a foundation for a diversified economy had been being laid, adding that “the 2017 budget will strengthen the economy further.
5. Turaki Vanguard, a political group supporting former vice president, Atiku Abubakar its principal was one of those behind the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The group said Atiku remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, insisting that the Turakin Adamawa has nothing to do with the crisis rocking the PDP.
6. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized at least 12 properties from a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, and his son, Shamsudeen Bala.
It was learnt on Tuesday that the seizures were part of the ongoing investigations into a controversial land swap deal carried out by the minister to the tune of N1tn between 2010 and 2015.
7. There are reports that suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Monday laid an ambush between Sari and Gudumbali areas of Borno State, killing another Lieutenant Colonel, Otos Umusu, and his unnamed security aide while heading to their base in Baga.
Umusu, who was the Commanding Officer of the 118 Task Force Battalion, Operation Lafiya Dole, in Borno, and his aide were killed by an Improvised Explosive Device planted on the road.
8. President Muhammadu Buhari will today (Wednesday) present the 2017 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.
The document will be the second one to be presented by the President after his inauguration in May 2015. Buhari, who will be accompanied by top government officials, is expected to present the document at 10am.
9. The Super Falcons will stage a protest to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday over the non-payment of their entitlements.
The eight-time African champions team are ready to carry placards and proceed on a peaceful protest to the State House, where the Federal Executive Council meeting will take place today.
10. The Federal Government has claimed it discovered unrecorded debts of N2.2tn ($7.22bn) left over from the previous administration.
It said in a tweet that the debts were uncovered after an audit aimed at improving transparency..
