1. Nemesis has finally caught up with wanted notorious robbery gang kingpin, Onyebuchi Ibanu Umemo, also known as Alamo.

He was nabbed by a combined team of policemen and vigilante operatives, following a distress call over a robbery incident at Egerton Road in Onitsha.

2. Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has once again told Nigerians that the Buhari-led administration is not deaf to grievances in parts of the country.

According to him, the government will address them, adding that such grievances should be expressed with grace.

3. The Spanish government on Tuesday deported 23 Nigerians for various offences in the country.

According to spokesman for the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP, Joseph Alabi, 21 male and two female deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 6:40am, aboard a Privilege Style aircraft, with registration number EC-IZO for drug-related and criminal offences.

4. A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team over the President’s Sallah message, which was broadcast only in Hausa language.

Okupe said that the president may not have intended the statement to be used as a direct message to nation.

5. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu on Tuesday boasted that it will ride on the wings of the United Nations, UN, charters, which allows group seeking secession to exploit civil disobedience in achieving its mandate of Biafra.

The separatist group said it is asking for self determination as recognised in both United Nations charter on the Rights of Indigenous People and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights.

6. Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has proposed that traditional rulers should be given security votes to help in curtailing the increasing rate of crime in the country.

Bello, who said he no longer have confidence in Nigeria’s security agencies, noted that if N100m was given to traditional rulers monthly, the nation would fare better in the aspect of security.

7. Leader of the Boko Haram terrorist sect, Abubakar Shekau, has said the sect was responsible for the attack on a military/police convoy and the abduction of about 10 policewomen along the Damboa-Maiduguri Road last week.

Shekau in a new video released on Tuesday, condemned the peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in the country, saying that the sect would not spare liberal Muslims unless they repented and followed ‘the path of Allah’.

8. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria has warned the Federal Government against the full concession of the nation’s refineries.

According to the Group Executive Chairman, NNPC Branch of PENGASSAN, Mr. Abdullahi Sale, it would be wrong for any government to hand over its energy sector for privatization.

9. A group of Southern elder statesmen, on Tuesday, stated that no region will gain meaningfully from spilt of Nigeria.

The elders, led by the country’s former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade and former Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), Prof. Anya o. Anya, said there was no alternative to one Nigeria and vowed to do everything necessary to keep the nation as one.

10. In entertainment, the marriage of Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh to Olakunle Churchill has been dissolved traditionally.

Latest report suggests Churchill has received the money he paid for Tonto’s bride price after he requested for it.
