1. The Supreme Court of Nigeria will today give its verdict on the protracted leadership tussle between the Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction and the Ahmed Markarfi group.

The judegment would be passed by 9 a.m. at the Supreme Court Premises.

2. Nigeria’s Acting President on Tuesday jetted out of Nigeria for London, United Kingdom where he had a meeting with ailing President Muhammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo travelled to London to see the President shortly after he presided over the Quarterly Presidential Business Forum held at the Presidential Villa.

3. Maiduguri, the Borno State capital was on Tuesday thrown confusion following the multiple sound of explosions that went through the city walls.

Residents said there was an incident around Molai Kura, an outskirt along the Maiduguri, Damboa road, which forces some residents to flee their homes.

4. The All Progressive Congress, APC, Enugu State chapter has suspended the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on justice reform, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku.

The presidential aide was suspended indefinitely alongside 19 others, which included: Adolphus Udeh, (Deputy Chairman), Lolo Queen Ngozi Nwankwo (Woman Leader), Mr. Ikechukwu Oloto, (Youth Leader), Mr. Louis Okolo, (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Sydney Eze (Former Financial Secretary) Mr. Ebere Okolo (Former Treasurer), among others.

5. Members of the House of Representatives Tuesday shunned the Federal government policy, which subsumed Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, in Civic Education as a compulsory subject in the Secondary School curriculum.

The House agreed that students with the inputs of their parents at formative years should be taught the religious subjects of their choice in school.

6. Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday approved the appointment of 19 new Judges for the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, NIC.

The Judges include, Targema John Iorngee (Benue State), Namtari Mahmood Abba (Adamawa State), Nweneka Gerald Ikechi(Rivers State), Kado Sanusi (Katsina State), Adeniyi Sinmisola Oluyinka (Ogun State), Abiola Adunola Adewemimo (Osun State), Opeloye Ogunbowale A. (Lagos State) and among others.

7. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the ongoing trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The court’s decision to adjourn the ongoing trial of the IPOB leader to October 17 might not be unconnected to its “recess.’’

8. Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun has stated that Nigeria must not borrow more to fund its budget but would raise money through other means.

According to the minister, the country will no longer seek such loans or an additional $1.5 billion it had planned to raise from international debt markets.

9. Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has added his voice to the recent comments by wife of Nigeria’s President, Aisha Buhari and the Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani where they used animal metaphors in describing the power play around the State House in recent times.

Kayode said Nigeria has been turned into a jungle by Buhari’s apologists.

10. The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), on Tuesday, claimed that he was misunderstood over his recent disagreement with members of the National Assembly on the projects introduced into his ministry’s budget.

He said his intention, which he believed was the same with that of the lawmakers, was to see a better Nigeria.
